KIDDYKARE KNEWS Vol.1 Issue 1, 2009/2010
Date : 1st September 2009

Welcome back everyone, and a special KiddyKare welcome to all our new parents and children. The first week is behind us and everyone has settled really well into their new classes, children and teachers alike. Friends from last year have been reunited and new friendships have been formed with the arrival of our new children. All around school, especially in the classrooms, there is a fresh, exciting atmosphere.
The graduation of our K3 class at the end of the last school year saw us say a sad farewell to a group of lovely children. They will be missed, especially by Teacher Daniel, but he now has another wonderful class, as do all the other teachers. During the months of July and August we held a very successful Summer School program. Classes were full each week and the relaxed atmosphere and fun-packed days ensured that the children had a great time.
As I am sure that you have noticed, there are several new faces amongst the teaching staff. In our Toddler class we welcome, Shay who is from Zimbabwe and in Kindergarten 2 welcomes Moria from Scotland. I am sure that the experience and enthusiasm they bring will be an asset to the school.
Just for your information, due to the H1N1 virus, we will be checking every child’s temperature upon their arrival at KiddyKare, to ensure that every child is feeling well. However, we ask that if your child has had a fever the previous night, or has had a runny nose, or any flu like symptoms, please keep them at home for at least 24 hours. Thank you for your cooperation.
Kind Regards,
Julie

Car Parking
If you bring your child to school by car I am sure that you have experienced how difficult and frustrating it can be sometimes to park close enough. We have very limited space directly in front of the school, as you know, and it causes problems (especially in the morning). This being said, if you know that you will be leaving your car for any longer than 5-10 minutes could you please park your car on the opposite side of the street

School Photos
Term 1 Class Photos will be taken between the week of October 5th-9th, 2009. Definite date will be confirmed soon. To ensure quality, KiddyKare will be using the professional services of U Smile Kids. Kids that usually attend only three days or two days per week are welcome to attend the photo session. Shortly afterward you will be able to purchase photographs of your child(ren) through the school.
N.B. All children should wear regular KiddyKare Uniform.

Dropping off Children
Most children have now settled into their new classes. Obviously there will be days (particularly in Nursery and Toddlers) where you may wish to stay for a short time – this is understandable.
Could I ask the parents of the Kindergarten children to drop off your child in the canteen area rather than taking them to the classroom. This can prove a little disruptive at a time when we are trying to get the children settled into their new routine.

Welcome!
A BIG KiddyKare welcome to the following new children and their families…
Penguins: George
Elephants: Johannes, Lucas, Si Woo
Bears: Vincent
Hippos: Kabir
Tigers: David, Hayato
Giraffes: Heikki
